Catherine asked me the following question:
Anna, in your Autumn makeup video you are using your foundation, then eyeshadows etc and only then your concealer and powder. I do not understand why! Is there a secret behind this? You see, me, I first apply my foundation, then concealer, powder, blush, eyeshadow, and pencil eyeliner etc …Am I doing it wrong?
Thanks in advance!
You are right, there is a little trick in the sequence. The more intense your eyeshadow will be, the more you have to watch out applying it. Why? Because it may fall down under your eyes, and with your concealer and everything on, it will be quite hard to make everything look good again. Instead, if you only plan to use your mascara and your light eyeshadow, your sequence if just fine. But if you want to do a full smokey eye, it’s better to first apply your foundation, then eyeshadow base, followed by eye pencil, eyeshadow, mascara. Then you make sure your eye makeup as well as your undereye area are neat. If it’s not the case, you can take a makeup removing wipe to remove the excess. If it all looks good, you can go on and apply your concealer, powder and the rest. This little trick will help your makeup look more professional and will prevent you from walking around with dark ‘panda eyes’.
If want to keep going and use your normal sequence, but still want to do a smokey eye, I have another tip for you. After you’ve applied your concealer, apply lots of powder under your eyes. When you’re done with the makeup, you can remove the excess powder using a soft brush. Done!
You can watch here the makeup I’m talking about.
