So, we’re in the middle of January, it is cold, it has snowed recently and the temperature is below zero. The days are short and grey for 90% of the time. In other words, it is winter. Everything is as usual except fr\or one thing: the spring collections are out! They are so bright and sunny and beautiful! Very mind-refreshing. So, today I will review the gorgeous powder from Chanel’s spring collection for 2013, La Poudre Signee de Chanel.
Packaging and design: 10 out of 10.
Here I am definitely biased because well I love the Chanel packaging most of the time. It is so simple: a black plastic box but yet so sophisticated and chic. That’s what I love about Chanel: how they manage to make simple products look gorgeous. The powder can be found inside of a black velvet cover. It is gorgeous: it has the logo and flowers on it. It is so beautiful I was even afraid to touch it first. La Poudre Signee de Chanel has 8 grams of product.
Texture: 10 out of 10.
Frankly, normally I am not fan of Chanel compact powders because of their texture: they are often too dry, look too powdery/cakey on your face. But this one is different. Its texture is very soft, silky and light, you can not feel it on your skin. It is invisible also you can just see the effect it gives your face. It doesn’t highlight my pores at all and lasts long.
Shade and finish: 10 out of 10.
The shade of La Poudre Signee de Chanel is a light beige with white-golden glow. It contains lots of light-reflecting pigments. They are quite visible and they make sure that this powder has a satin finish. They are the ones that do the job and make your face look very pretty. It looks expensive, evened out and it has a subtle glow of healthy skin that someone takes good care of. Love it! That is exactly what I need. Frankly, I kept watching myself in all the mirrors today. Shame on me. I guess I love it this much also because this glow is quite delicate. I don’t like it when my face looks shiny like it does for example when I wear Giorgio Armani Loose Powder. Whenever I use flash on my photos my face looks too shiny. Not with La Poudre Signee de Chanel: flash or not, my face just looks perfect. Maybe that is because of the shade also: it is just perfect for my fair skin. Probably the ladies with darker skin will find this powder is more a highlighter though.
A delicate powder that makes your skin glow, doesn’t highlight pores, which last long and looks beautifully in its packaging? Yes, I am talking about La Poudre Signee de Chanel. I am very choosy with powders and I skipped many seasonal collections because of that. Because I thought the quality was not good enough, the powder was not fine enough, not silky enough, too many glitters…Well, I found many reasons. But this is not the case: this is a great powder. I love it on all aspects. I should also say that this is a limited edition – which means after it’s sold out you will not be able to buy it anymore. So if you like it I wouldn’t wait too long.
Overall mark: 10 out of 10.
Price: about 55 euro for 5 grams (0.28 oz).
Now the most interesting part: the way powder looks on me.
Here I applied Dior Forever Compact in 023, MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NC20 on my imperfections and I used Bobbi Brown Concealer in Sand as my undereye concealer.
Here I added La Poudre Signee de Chanel:
