I must make a confession: it’s so hot that I almost wear no makeup at all the latest days. I just do some easy & quick eye makeup, ligloss and voilà. I only make an effort to do like a full makeup in the weekends, we go out and I can wear something at night. So, this is the only product for ly face that I’ve been using lately: Dior Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Creme-Gel Makeup.
It comes in a standard dark blue carton box. I actually bought a refill so this is a picture of a refill. A normal powder comes in a fancy stylish box with a mirror. A refill comes in a not-so-fancy plastic.
I decided to go for a refill because normally Dior has powders of standard sizes. I remember, the old X4 used to fit in a Forever packaging. And as I already have a Dior Forever Powder I decided it could fit in there. But I was wrong: this refill is bigger.
In the end I am still happy that I took a refill because it’s much lighter that a standard box and easier to transport. There is also a sponge in the box (pretty good one actually).
Now all that being said, I’d like to turn to the powder itself. My Dior Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Creme-Gel Makeup is in the shade 020 which according to Dior color scheme must be a neutral light beige. I must say that this 020 is darker than Forever’s 20 shades: compare Dior Forever 023 (on the left on the picture above) with my refill.
So it is a darker shade and as you can see it’s darker than skin on my hand and it has a yellow undertone. In the summer this shade is perfect for me though.
This gel powder has a really funny texture: it is not a gel, I would rather say that it’s a cream. This cream is quite thick and a bit oily, but once applied and blended out a miracle happens: it dries up to a powder. Well, at least, it does that in a cool climate. Here in China it doesn’t because it’s just too hot (like 30 degrees and humid). It evens out the skintone, covers rednesses and minor imperfections and with it my face looks really good. Because it’s not a foundation but a powder, it looks quite natural. I still need to powder it off for a flawless longlasting finish but I think many ladies with dry skin could easily skip this step. And that’s what perfect about this product: it can be good for any skin type. If your skin is dry just use it on your own, if your skin is oily you can powder it off. A very universal product!
Summing it all up, a great product of great quality, longlasting and quite natural looking.
Overall note: A.
Now let’s see it on my face. Here I wear nothing:
