I remember I was looking for a good concealer. My under eye situation has always been bad so yeah I needed something really covering and long-lasting. So I was really incredibly happy when I found out about Bobbi Brown‘s system! It was a perfect solution for me for a couple of years. Yes it is true! I used this corrector and concealer every single day for a year or two! Until I discovered some problems…well not that I discovered them but due to climate change it stopped being this perfect. Want to find out what I’m talking about? Read further!
Bobbi Brown Corrector. Product’s description:
A wakeup call for tired eyes. Corrector is pink or peach based to neutralise under-eye darkness and is designed to be used before Creamy Concealer. New and improved formula is long-wearing and brightens dark circles with quick, just right coverage that’s easy to blend and won’t crease. And since great makeup starts with healthy skin, Corrector is infused with skin conditioners to protect the delicate under-eye area.
So actually to reach the best results you have to use both corrector and concealer. Why? They have a different function. Corrector is supposed to neutralize the dark color and concealer should brighten the under eye area. But I know many girls with light under eye circles use only corrector or only concealer. If that works for you – fine, for my circles I need them both. So let’s talk about them step by step, first about the corrector. Their packaging is absolutely the same: small round boxes with a mirror inside. There are also sets with powder, I used to buy them but I still have a lot of powder left from other sets so I figured I can just buy concealer this time.
Bobbi Brown Corrector in Bisque.
As I explained, all the correctors have weird colors: some of them are more pink, others are more yellow or even orange. Which one to choose depends on the color of your under eye circles. The secret is to choose the color that would be perfectly opposite to you dark circle and thus will neutralize it. I think you have to try it out, the best thing to do is go to a Bobbi Brown counter and let the ladies help you.
Bisque is an intense pinkish beige.
So as I said, for me the system corrector + concealer works best. But as many women just use one of the products I decided to do 2 separate reviews. Speaking about Bobbi Brown Corrector only, the most important is to choose the right color. If you choose the good one, you will see the effect directly. But this color might look weirdly pink/orange on its own so I would still use concealer on top of it. The texture of both corrector and concealer is really thick and creamy. I think it’s best to apply them using finger with dapping movements. But even this way, if you don’t powder it off they will crease! Before I never noticed that but in this conditions, always hot and humid climate it was too clear. I just applied this corrector and a couple of minutes later it started creasing already! You can see that on the picture. But even despite that, I am still a fan of this corrector because of a simple fact that I didn’t find anything better yet. And also, that’s why they advise to use the powder on top. When I do, it doesn’t crease much longer.
Overall note: A-.
Time for the photos. Here I just applied some cream:
Here I applied Bobbi Brown Corrector on my left eye (right on the photo). You can see the color difference! The right area looks much less purple and blue and looks more pink like normal skin would look like.
