November is the most exciting time of the year for beauty addicts! If you live in USA you’re lucky as all the collections come out sooner. I don’t but I’m really curious about what brands created this year so guess what was the first thing I did as soon as we arrived to France? That’s right, I checked out the Holiday Collections 2013! Unfortunately they are not available in France yet or at least not in our city, they only had Guerlain Holiday Collection 2013. I decided to take a look and went for Guerlain Météorites Crazy Pearls Holiday 2013.
They come in a standard carton box, there is 30 g/1.05 oz. of product in it.
The box itself looks a lot like that of météorites from the permanent collection except that it’s black with ‘Champs-Élysées’ written on it in colorful letters.
Guerlain Météorites Crazy Pearls Holiday 2013: Product Description
To please loyal fans, the cult pearls offer a play on their legendary combination of six shades: beige and rosy beige to even out the skin, mauve to refresh, white to light up, gold to illuminate and pink for a healthy glow. The subtly pearly Météorites light up the face with a delicately satiny halo, discreetly perfumed with the inimitable powdery violet trail.
In a wild decoration the letters “Champs-Élysées” dance in full colour, and seemingly in three dimensions, all around the black lacquered metal case.
This is what the meteorites look like:
Here’s another photo taken with a flash. The colors are gorgeous! What I was really hoping for was that I could use these meteorites as a blush as there were meteorites of bright pinkish red color.
You never know what effect meteorites will give, especially the limited edition ones (Crazy Pearls is the limited edition). The clue is to take a look at the sponge: normally it will look on your face the (almost) same way it looks on the sponge:
Here’s a close-up. Yes it looks pink! The spots are light pink, dark pink and you can also see some silver glitters here and there. Sounds promising!
The pearls are of different sizes and shapes, there are 6 different pearls in these meteorites:
- Pinkish red, matte;
- Beige, matte;
- Sand, matte;
- Lavender, matte;
- Golden beige, shimmery;
- White, shimmery.
When you open the box you can see some dust on the walls, I tried to collect it with my finger, as you can see the general shade of Crazy Pearls is light pink with tiny silver glitters:
The swatch of meteorites…it’s almost impossible to take a picture of. I did my best and as you can see, it gives a pretty light pink shade with some glitters:
As the color is very light I highlighted the area here:
Guerlain Météorites Crazy Pearls Holiday 2013: My Opinion
I love them! Seriously, I skipped a lot of Guerlain Limited Edition Meteorites as I just didn’t think they were good enough. Enough powder that does absolutely nothing for me? No, thanks! But you can use Crazy Pearls as a blush and it looks so pretty! Besides that, there’s this factor that it’s cute, and the smell…gorgeous! Normally I use just a tiny bit on my T-zone as I noticed that they make my skin look perfect: they erase the pores and give that awesome photoshop effect. Then I apply 3-4 coats on my cheeks and it works really fine as a blush! What I really like is that the pearls are very soft and give a lot of product away. Yep, I recommend it!
Overall note: A.
Where you can buy it:
Here is the before picture. I am wearing here Catrice Photo Finish foundation, MAC Skinfinish concealer and tiny bit of La Prairie powder on my T-zone:
Here I applied 1 coat of Guerlain Météorites Crazy Pearls on my T-zone and 4 coats on my cheeks as a blush:

And again, 1 coat of Guerlain Météorites Crazy Pearls on my T-zone and 4 coats on my cheeks as a blush:
The tiny silver glitters are absolutely invisible once applied on the skin:
Here I am, holding my Guerlain Météorites Crazy Pearls! I am also wearing them on my T-zone and as a blush:
