Make Up For Ever is one of the most well known and reputated professional makeup brands. They have makeup academies all over the world where the best makeup artists learnt their skills. But they’re also well known for the makeup of outstanding quality. I decided to test some of their products and the first one was the concealer. If you are new to my blog, let me tell you a secret: I have a huge problem: my under eye area. As my skin is very pale and thin, the veins under my eyes shine through more than I would have wished. As a result, my under eye circles are huge and have a very intense deep blue color. I’ve been searching for the solution to this problem like forever now…The next candidate for a yet vacant spot of my holy grail concealer is Make Up For Ever HD Concealer.

Make Up For Ever HD Concealer: Product Description

What it is:
An oil-free, medium-coverage concealer that covers imperfections while remaining invisible to high-definition televisions and the naked eye.

What it does:
This concealer creates a soft-focus effect, brightening the eye area while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for a natural, radiant look. The innovative soft silicone applicator enables precise application for a perfectly even finish on camera and in person.

So I went to Sephora and the lady working there told me this could be a perfect solution to my under-eye problem. I took the lightest shade available: 305 Porcelain, all the other shades were too dark for me. Porcelain is a very light, bright pink-based beige.

I liked the packaging: it is a pen concealer but instead of a brush there is an opening made of silicone. The concealer comes out of a little hole. I think it’s much more hygienic than a standard brush!

The texture is indeed on the lighter side. I am much more used to full coverage creamy concealers like Bobbi Brown, so this was something new and different for me. I can’t say I didn’t appreciate it though: it looks good under the eyes and doesn’t crease a lot. It still does crease and seriously, that is one huge concealer problem.

My opinion:

I am pretty happy with this concealer. It is true that you can consider that half of the work is done when you choose the right concealer color for you. As my skin is really pale, it is really hard to find a matching tone for me. But Make Up For Ever thought of ladies with the skin pale as mine, too! Due to the color HD Concealer highlights the under eye area and makes it look younger, fresher and brighter. It is comfortable to wear. It does crease a bit but…oh well.

Overall note: A-.
