I am really sorry that I couldn’t do any posts/updates all this time! If you follow my Twitter and Facebook account you knew that we were moving (yet again) to another country, we were busy installing here and then we didn’t have internet for a long time! They just installed it today like half an hour ago and guess where I am? Right, at my laptop writing an update for you!

I love-love-love London and enjoyed it a lot during our stay there!

We stayed in a very chic district between two stations: South Kensington and Sloane Square. On our last day we discovered a delicous Libanese restaurant just very close to South Kensington Station. I highly recommend it for all the meat lovers! Besides, it was not very expensive for London.

The day after that it was time to leave. Unfortunately it all passed so quickly! We took a bus that took us to the airport. But where’s the driver, haha!

So after our London adventure it was time for…Riga! We will be staying here for the next 6 months at least. When we arrived it was surprisingly hot (according to Latvian people): they’ve never had January as ‘hot’ as this year! By ‘hot’ I mean 5 degrees. And it was raining a lot!

So after arrival we decided to go on a quick tour around the city. The old center is beautiful!!!

Luckily we could walk around Riga a lot these first days because a couple of days later it was already -15 outside! It still is. And apparently this is normal temperature for January and I must tell you: it’s so cold!!! Especially because it’s also humid. So brrr! We tried taking a walk last Saturday, there were a lot of activities in the center (Riga is European Capital of Culture in 2014) but we had to warm up in cafes several times.

There’s no Starbucks in Riga, they have their own Double Coffee. The food is better there and there’s a huge choice of different kinds of coffee, mulled wine, hot chocolate and fruit teas. My love took hot cacao with white chocolate (he said it was delicious) and I was very happy with my mango citrus tea! Perfect!

Since January 2014 Latvia also makes part of the Euro zone. Look at the shiny brand new Latvian euros!
