I love the football world cup in Brazil because of so many reasons: you can meet your friends and support your team altogether, spend so much nice time together and because this is a perfect event to do creative makeup looks! I week ago I already posted my Dutchies look and this week it’s time for my second team: Russia!
Even though (most certainly) they’ll be eliminated in the group round, I decided to do this makeup to support this team!
The Russian flag looks like this:
The colors are white-blue-red. Since the communist times, red has become an important color for Russia. That served as my inspiration: I used the flag for my eyes and of course I couldn’t resist red lipstick. You know, the most famous red lipgloss by MAC isn’t called Russian Red for nothing ;)
Here is the result:
For my eyes I started from my eyebrows: first I applied the white shade (Atelier Makeup) under the eyebrow and until the crease. Then I used Catrice trio baked eyeshadow: I applied the blue shade in the crease and the red shade all over the eyelids. The makeup at that point was ok but I wanted to add some edge, so I applied grey Essence gel liner on the lower lash line and drew a long wing in the corners. To connect the liner and the blue Catrice eyeshadow I decided to blend out the wing upwards using MAC club eyeshadow: this is such a beautiful shade! Then I also added some MAC Blue Brown pigment. Finally I applied Gosh eye pencil (hypnotic grey) on my waterline and some mascara.
For my face I used catrice Matt foundation in 010, my usual La Prairie loose powder, Guerlain bronzer and again I used some red shade from Catrice trio eyeshadow as a blush. As the eyes and the lips are really bright and colorful I decided to keep the face simple and neutral.
Unfortunately I don’t have MAC Russian Red lipstick so I had to do with what I do have. First I applied a lip liner: by the way these waterproof lip liners by Catrice are amazing! Really soft, pigmented and really longlasting! I used the shade 130 Prince Cherry. On top of it I applied a gorgeous red lipstick also by Catrice: 310 Red My Lips. And finally I added a tiny bit of red lipgloss by Essence to add some shine!
