Catrice All Matt Plus Foundation Review:
Girls with combination/oily skin: this article is special for you! I also have combination/oily skin and I know what it is to always have to check if your makeup is still good and how annoying it is when you look at yourself in the mirror and you think of the song ‘Shine bright like a Diamond…’ and well there you shine! A little bit too bright!
I’ve heard so many good things about this foundation so I had to test it for you! An even better news: it’s a drugstore foundation!
Here is the product description:
Catrice All Matt Plus Foundation Shine Control Make Up
NON STOP MATT
The perfect basis for this season’s make-up looks: a matt complexion. The All Matt Plus – Shine Control Make Up controls unwanted shine – all day long. Its silky texture is oil-free and offers great coverage to make little skin imperfections visibly disappear. At the same time, light-reflecting pigments ensure a silky-matt and flawless finish – without a mask-like effect. Dermatologically tested. Ideal in combination with the All Matt Plus – Shine Control Powder.
Catrice All Matt Plus Foundation is available in 4 shades:
- 010 Light Beige
- 020 Nude Beige
- 030 Warm Beige
- 040 Sun Beige
The packaging is really pretty! It’s made of solid matte glass. There’s 30 ml/1.01 fl.oz in it!
My skin is really bright so I chose the lightest shade: 010 Light Beige! Here is a swatch:
And here I blended it out on my hand:
There’s no pump system but there is an applicator inside: a stick! It kind of makes me think of La Prairie foundation. I applied some spots on my face and then blended it out.
Here is my bare face with no makeup on:
Here I applied Catrice All Matt Plus Foundation 010 Light Beige:
This foundation gives a medium-full coverage, depending on what you want. You can build it up, the texture is pretty liquid but if you apply too much you’ll see it on your face. The shade 010 is a great shade for the ladies with light skin, it’s lighter than other lightest shade from Catrice which is great! I was completely in love with the finish when I first applied it: it is matte and yet your face is not flat. But I was really horrified when I saw myself in the mirror after a couple of hours: despite the fixing powder my face literally shone like a diamond! Too bad!
The next day I decided to do a test: is it this foundation that makes my skin so greasy or is it my skin that’s really oily at the moment? So I applied no makeup at all that day. After a couple of hours my skin was really shiny. So we can draw a conclusion from here: this foundation doesn’t make my skin greasy! But it doesn’t matify or at least not enough for me.
This foundation is definitely not for you if you have dry skin – it will look even drier. It is a good product for people with normal/combination skin and for the ones with oily skin if you’ll apply a mattifying primer underneath. That will also cover your pores because this foundation doesn’t do that!
PS I didn’t photoshop the photos above, you can see my skin as it really looks like (well but for that you’ll have to come really closely to me haha).
All in all, this product is a good budget foundation with matte finish but it’s not a mattifying foundation!
