We love discounts and great deals in the Netherlands. I literally can’t pass by a good offer so imagine the sounds I made when I saw that there were new deals available for Make Up For Ever! Many products that are discontinued were available with up to 70% of sale! As you can imagine, I just couldn’t sit still so here is what I bought!
First thing I just couldn’t resist for is the Make Up For Ever metal powder. This is not exactly a must-have product but as I’m into creative makeup recently I decided I can make a great use of it!
The collection included 4 shades but there were only 3 of them available and I decided to get them all:
- Make Up For Ever Metal Powder 1 Sunflower Gold
- Make Up For Ever Metal Powder 2 Maize Gold
- Make Up For Ever Metal Powder 3 Honey Gold
- Make Up For Ever Metal Powder 4 Olive Gold
I’ve got the shades 1, 2 and 4:
Here is a swatch for Make Up For Ever Metal Powder 1 Sunflower Gold. This is the most ‘pure’ gold out of the 3:
Here is a swatch for Make Up For Ever Metal Powder 2 Maize Gold. This is a more coppery gold:
Here is a swatch for Make Up For Ever Metal Powder 4 Olive Gold. This shade has a bit of green in it:
With the new fashion for matte shades I decided I definitely needed 2 new eyeliners! Besides, I wanted to test the Make Up For Ever eyeliners and compare them with the other ones that I’ve got (MAC, Bobbi Brown and Essence).
I chose 2 trendy shades:
- Make Up For Ever Aqua Creamliner 5 Matte Purple and
- Make Up For Ever Aqua Creamliner 6 Matte Green
Here are the swatches. As you can guess, 6 is above and 5 is below:
These 2 are so so good! I love the quality, they’re very long-lasting, the coverage is great and the shade on the eyes is exactly the same as on the swatch!
I love powders and pigments (even though I don’t have a lot of them) so I decided that that needed to change. I got one extremely beautiful Star Powder:
- Make Up For Ever Star Powder 974 Taupe
I also have one all-time favorite lipgloss – Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss 55 Confidence which has been discontinued! And it’s been so long that I’m trying to find a dupe for this product! I decided that one of the lipsticks by MUFE looked the same:
- Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Natural N22 Pink Peach
Here is the swatch for Make Up For Ever Star Powder 974 Taupe. It looks incredibly pretty on the eyes!
Here is Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Natural N22 Pink Peach. I would definitely say it’s much more pink than peach!
Here is the swatch. You see, no peach!
You can never have enough eye pencils and brushes, right? That’s what I thought! I’ve got 2 standard eye pencils:
- Make Up For Ever Eye Pencil 1 Dark Green
- Make Up For Ever Eye Pencil 31 Deep Blue
Then two standard lip pencils:
- Make Up For Ever Lip Pencil 49 Cold Nude
- Make Up For Ever Lip Pencil 50 Warm Nude
You can see the swatches for the lip pencils on the picture above, 49 is on the left and 50 is on the right.
Then I have 2 other eye pencils, one from Aqua Eyes:
- Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes 52L I couldn’t find the shade’s name, I think this shade has been discontinued.
And the other one is a crayon khol:
- Make Up For Ever Crayon Khol 10K Pearly Black Purple
Here are the swatches for all the pencils. Starting from top:
- Make Up For Ever Eye Pencil 31 Deep Blue
- Make Up For Ever Eye Pencil 1 Dark Green
- Make Up For Ever Crayon Khol 10K Pearly Black Purple
- Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes 52L
- Make Up For Ever Lip Pencil 49 Cold Nude
- Make Up For Ever Lip Pencil 50 Warm Nude
Last but not the least, the brushes. Make Up For Ever has switched on to synthetic brushes but they did have some natural bristles brushes in the old collection. I got 4 of them:
- Make Up For Ever 5S Eyeshadow Brush
- Make Up For Ever 8S Eyeshadow Brush
- Make Up For Ever 5N Eyeshadow Brush (this is a nylon brush)
- Make Up For Ever 16S Eyeshadow Brush
As the specifications say, you can use these brushes for the following purposes:
- Make Up For Ever 5S and 8S are said to be multi-purpose brushes. The difference is in the size: 5S is slightly smaller.
- Make Up For Ever 5N: precise application, controlled blending
- Make Up For Ever 16S: this brush has a cylindrical shape and a precise tip and is perfect for application and blending of the eye shadow on the lids and in the crease
Voilà! That’s it. Of course I needed to try all these products out. Here is the eye look! I used the Make Up For Ever Star Powder 974, Make Up For Ever Eye Pencil 31, Make Up For Ever Aqua Creamliner 5. I also added some neutral shades from Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette and MAC Woodwinked.
And on the lips I’m wearing Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Natural N22! Do you like this look?
