I know this has been a long time the Guerlain Meteorites Cruel Gardenia is out, and everyone who wanted to have it has already bought it and tested it out, but I would still like to write this review as this is a marvellous product.
Who didn’t I buy it when it came out? Because of its price tag, which I found a little overrated. Namely, it is a highlighter, a product that many have never heard of. I thought it was not universal enough and so I let it go. Later, my mom saw it in a shop on a discount and, of course, this time I couldn’t let it go.
Packaging and design: When I tested it, I understood how wrong I was: the product is universal enough for me to be used every day, even on my slightly tanned skin. I absolutely adore it. The design of this product alone is fascinating: beautiful flower that I was afraid of touching in the beginning. It is so girly but yet subtle, just perfect.
Texture: I would say it is quite creamy, not dry at all. It is a shimmering product. I was quite afraid it would give too much glitter and make me look like a disco ball, but I think it is quite subtle and almost invisible in daylight. That is definitely an advantage for me.
Finish: the color of this product is very light pink mixed with beige. It can seem a bit frosty in certain lightening but it is not true. The cruel gardenia has quite neutral color after all and it would definitely work out for both people with cool and warm skin undertones. I used it as a highlighter for cheekbones, area under and above the eyebrows and above my upper lip. The product wears very nicely and stays in place the whole day long. What I also like about it is that it doesn’t accentuate the pores.
Overall: I don’t know exactly why this is called meteorites as it has nothing to do with classical Guerlain Meteorites Powder. It is also missing the classical scent which I adore. It has rather a classical make-up scent. That is a tiny disadvantage for me, the only one I found about this product. Since I have it, I’ve been using it every day and I do not plan to replace it with something else. It gives a lovely fresher subtle effect, I recommend it for everyone! It is a limited edition though, so you might experience a hard time trying to find it. I think, some shops in unpopular locations might still have it though.
